While our primary markets are Kansas and Missouri, both principals have completed assignments throughout the United States and hold permanent certifications in 9 different states.

Appraisal Staff

Megan Warner

Ms. Warner has been appraising commercial real estate since 2005. Ms. Warner joined Verity Valuation in March 2008 following employment with another local appraisal firm. She appraises a wide range of property types including retail, office, multifamily, industrial, commercial and residential subdivisions, as well as vacant land. Ms. Warner has performed appraisals in several states throughout the Midwest, holds a General Certification in both Kansas and Missouri, and is a candidate for the MAI Designation. Ms. Warner holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Friends University with minors in Marketing and Business Administration.

Patrick Brown

Mr. Brown has been in the real estate appraisal business since 2002. Patrick is a Certified Residential and FHA-approved appraiser as well as an associate member of the Appraisal Institute. He is known by his clients as someone who provides well-written appraisals and places a strong emphasis on customer service. Patrick successfully owned and operated Midwest Appraisal Solutions, LLC, for four years before merging with Verity Valuation. Now in a Director role, he performs appraisals as well as develops new business. He received an Associate of Arts from Johnson County Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Friends University.

Cheryl Jones

Ms. Jones has been appraising commercial real estate since 2003. Well versed in a wide range of property types, she prides herself on meeting clients’ needs in a professional and timely manner. Ms. Jones has experience in the appraisal of retail, office, lodging facilities, multifamily, industrial and commercial properties, as well as residential subdivisions and vacant land. Presently, Ms. Jones is generally certified in Kansas and Missouri and is actively pursuing her MAI Designation. Ms. Jones earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Iowa and has taken various graduate level business courses at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Wyatt Shanks

Mr. Shanks has been involved in real estate for many years in the areas of property management, brokerage and appraisals. He began his real estate career in 1977, as part of a family business that acquired and managed commercial properties and business ventures. Mr. Shanks is an associate member of the Appraisal Institute, having completed all coursework for becoming a Certified Residential appraiser, and most of the advanced courses required for the SRA designation. He is licensed as a real estate broker in Missouri. His broad experience affords Mr. Shanks opportunities in the residential and commercial areas of the business.

Amy Chinnery-Valmassei

Ms. Chinnery-Valmassei began working as an appraiser in 2010 and is working to become a Certified Residential Appraiser. Working with Mark Maschger, she has experienced broad variety in assignments and markets. Ms. Chinnery-Valmassei earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematical Sciences from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.

Elisa Day

Ms. Day has worked in the real estate industry in 2011. Prior to working as an analyst, she has worked as a Program Director for the University of Missouri System, an administrative assistant for the University of Missouri, and a photographer for the Associated Press. Ms. Day earned her Bachelor of Arts in Slavic Languages and Literatures (Russian) from the University of Kansas and a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis (Higher Education Administration) from the University of Missouri.

Leslie Maschger

Ms. Maschger has worked in the real estate industry since 1999, in roles including business management, brokerage management and real estate marketing. She excels in providing excellent customer care and is an expert in small business administration. Ms. Maschger earned a Bachelors of Science from Missouri Central University.
